Shahd Barmada (born August 14, 1988 in Aleppo, Syria) is a singer who rose to popularity around the world[citation needed] as the runner up of Super Star 3, the pan-Arabic version of Pop Idol. She gained 47% of the total vote below Ibrahim El Hakami from Saudi Arabia.
Shahd includes Umm Kulthum as her main musical inspiration.
